Kitchen pump boxes are installed when the new fit-out plumbers can’t run a standard drain back to the main building stack riser in a conventional way
How does a kitchen pump box work ?
The pump box fills up from the kitchen sink being used, once the box fills up (the pump inside the box) pumps out the waste water, via a pressure drain line in the ceiling space back to the main building stack riser.
Why is our kitchen pump box smelly ?
Grease and waste builds up at the bottom of the waste box and then accumulates, this waste rot’s inside the box until its cleaned out manually. The smell just accumulates if not maintained on a regular basis.
Our pump box has overflow and flooded the kitchen, what happened ?
Most likely the grease build-up inside the pump box has held the float down causing the mechanics to fail (or) the old pump has failed completely. Note all pumps fail eventually.
How often should we clean, our kitchen pump box unit ?
Each service requirement is different. We assess your kitchen and review your staff size. We then recommend service plan’s that range from “Monthly cleans for offices with over 40 staff, to 6 Monthly cleans for less than 10 Staff”
Do you also upgrade failed pump out units ?
Yes, we service and also supply and install new pump out units if required.
Do you charge a “Call-Out Fee” ?
No, we don’t charge call-out FEE and we also don’t charge for quotes. All charges are related to actual service or upgrades.
